Before I had my DSLR, I borrowed a higher end P&S from a friend of mine. (The type of camera escapes me at the moment). Anyway, I was excited to go out and shoot and headed towards Lake Mead. After driving for about an hour i pulled off onto a dirt rad and decided to see what I could find. After a while I found my way to the shore as the sun was setting and was able to capture this sunset shot. It was a change to see something so beautiful because normally our sunsets are not like this...the timing could not have been more perfect!
The trees that line the foreground in this photo were underwater a few years ago. I was shocked to see how drastic the water has gone down in 20 years, considering I have also witnessed the Lake at it fullest! It really is a shame to know that the water level is going down so quickly and not enough comes back after the winter seasons.  |
