**NO extreme Photo manipulation was done to this piece...simple adjustment of colors and contrast. Yes that is how the background ended up when I took the shot.**

It snowed in the desert today!!!! :w00t:

Since *Indigo76 is stranded here we decided to make the most of our time. We ventured in the snow and found ourselves at a local duck pond. These poor things appeared cold. The snow was blowing VERY hard and in all different directions. I shot this for the cab of the truck as not to get the camera all wet... I was quite amazed that I got him in this formation! :D

Daily Deviation

Given 2008-12-19

From the suggester: "When I first saw this deviation, I was sure it was a painting. Upon further inspection, I realized instead of a painting of a duck in flight, it was a photograph of a duck in flight....IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOWSTORM. There is something about this photo, whether it's the little pieces of snow on the duck, or the fact that the duck (to me) legitimately looks annoyed. I believe it's the best bird photograph I have ever seen, and deserves some serious daily deviation consideration." Holy shit! When I saw the thumbnail version I thought to myself, "I didn't know Aimee could paint!" This honest to god from afar looks like a painting. WHAT A PHOTO. I am blown away. The snow, the background, sheesh, absolute photographic domination.

I thought that it was a painting at first too :-)

Excellent capture Aimee!!!

We often miss the small things in life as we rush through the day doing whatever we need to do to survive in this hectic world.

Indigo said so....he's right here. :D I can see it just because of the movement of the wings and background and the body being focus.... I was simply happy that I got the shot an loved the motion it emitted. :D

Thank you Ryan! :iconnewhugplz:
